Letting Go

God is asking me to let go of so many things and it's terrifying me. I'm the kind of person that hates change. I would be perfectly happy staying where I am in life and not having anything change around me. But I know that's not how God wants me to live.

First of all, God wants me to change and become more like Him. I am to grow in holiness and in love for Him on a daily basis. This means letting go of certain things - like TV shows that don't glorify God, or friends that don't point me towards Him. "Take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." - 2 Peter 3:17-18

Secondly, life requires change. Just as God designed the seasons to change, so we too must go through different seasons in our lives. Yes, it's scary at times, but God wants to teach us to rely on Him.

I pray that I let go, and let God. :)

Claudia, I so identify with you. I hate change. And yet as you also point out God wants us to change; to grow more like Jesus.

I think it takes faith to step out and allow Him to change us. I have always had issues of trusting others. But I'm learning that God is trustworthy, not like humans.

If He is leading you in a new direction, stay close to Him in prayer. He will only lead you according to His Will. And He knows what's best for us better than anyone else.

I'm looking forward to reading about where He takes you next.

Blessings and love,
Debbie
